The Procedure of Making Meatballs

Ingredients:

1 kilo of very fine minced meat (preferably beef)
2 eggs
300 grams of tapioca-flour
4-8 cloves of garlic
1 red onion
1 teaspoon of white pepper
2 teaspoons of salt

The steps to make meatballs:

These steps are instruction on how to make meatballs, just meatball, the soup is made separately.
First of
all mix garlic, red onion, salt, and white pepper in a mortar or mixer.
Second step, mix the spice-mixture with the eggs, the tapioca-flour and the minced meat.
After that, use your fingers, add a cup of water, and keep on working until the mixture feels soft and smooth.
Then, boil some water in a rather large pot, at least about 2 liters.
Next, start rolling the mixture into small meatballs.
Finally, lower the meatballs into the boiling water. When they float up to the surface the meatball are ready to serve.

Ø  Description: Describing the thing which will be discussed in detail; part per part , customs or deed for living creature and usage for materials.

• Introducing group or general aspect.
• Using conditional logical connection; when, so, etc.
• Using simple present tense.

e.       Example:
"Birds"

 Birds are interesting flying animals. They are vertebrates and warm blooded animals. They belong to aves class and they can be found all over the world. Birds breath with their air pocket. Beside as respiration organ, air pocket also can enlarge or reduce their weight when flying or swimming. There are many kinds of birds. Earth bird has special characteristic. They have different morphology according to their food and their habitat. Some of them eat seeds, pollen, fish or meat. There are some species that live in land and the others live in water. Land birds live on their nest. Female birds have specific tasks. they lay eggs and feed their baby, Beside that they look for foods for their baby.

4.      RECOUNT TEXT
a.       Definition: The social function of Recount text is to retell past event or something which happened in the past.
b.      Social Function:this text can be only to inform or even just to entertain.

1.      Orientation : identify a person or thing acted or got involved in the event, including the time, a certain place, the situation, etc.
2.      Series of Events : ordered in a chronological sequence.
3.      Re-orientation : not always (optional), it contains personal comments.

·         Leang-leang Cave at Maros, South Sulawesi, Indonesia
·         On Sunday, my parents, my best friend Sam and I visited a cave at Maros called Leang-leang . It was my first time to visit the cave, better yet, my best friend came to visit it with me!
·         The cave was famous for its primitive cave wall paintings which were some hand prints and wild boar paintings. The cave and its surroundings was turned into a national park, so it was taken care of.

·         My parents took a rest in a small hut for visitors of the park, while Sam and I adventured around the cave with a guide. We had to climb some metal stairs to get to the cave, because the cave was embedded into a small mountain.

·         Next stop was a place where some seashells littered the ground and some were actually piled into a big mound! The guide said that these piles of seashells are called kjokkenmoddinger, or kitchen trash. The humans who lived here ate the shells and dumped the left overs in their ‘kitchen’.
·         The last place was a small museum where they have skeletons of the humans who lived in the caves. The skeletons along with some roughly made jewelry and weapons were placed inside glass cases for display. The walls of the museum were adorned with photographs taken when they did an excavation there.
·         After a quick lunch with Sam and my parents, we decided it was time to go back home. We really had the time of our lives!

a.    Definition: a story about fictional or real events, with follows a basic standart format.
b.    Social Function: to entertain lesteners or readers with a true experience or an imaginary one. The characteristic of the text is marked by conflict and resolution.
c.    Generic Structure:
§  Orientation: it means to introduce the participants or the characters of the story with the time and place set.
§  Complication: it is such the crisis of the story. If there is not the crisis, the story is not a narrative text.
§  Major Complication and Minor Complication.
§  Resolution: it is the final series of the events which happen in the story. The resolution can be good or bad.

d.      Lexicogrammatical features:
·   Orientation: sees the scene and introduces the participants.
·   Evaluation: a stepping back to evaluate the plight.
·   Complication: a crisis arises.
·   Resolution: the crisis is resolved, for better or for worse.
